Carved by Hand. Rescued from the Forest.

Reclaimed-wood sculptures and décor, lovingly crafted by hand

Our Craft, Here and Abroad

It began in a riverside shed in rural Oxfordshire, where a family member rescued a pile of unwanted oak off-cuts destined for the chipper and carved his first garden bear. Word of the one-of-a-kind sculpture spread from local markets to county fairs, and soon neighbours were dropping off storm-fallen branches that “looked too beautiful to burn."

Today every Grizzly’s Craft piece still starts with reclaimed timber, shaped by hand and finished with food-safe oils or weather-proof waxes so it can be loved for decades. What hasn’t changed is the promise we made on day one: only the tree’s story should leave a lasting mark, never its footprint.

While much of our work is created and finished by hand in the UK, some of our wider collection comes from skilled family artisans in Bali. We don’t work with factories. Instead, we source through a trusted supplier who works directly with individual makers and families, selecting people for their craftsmanship, care and attention to detail.

The materials used are chosen just as carefully as our own. Mango wood is only used once trees have finished fruiting and are replanted. Teak root, coconut shell and bamboo root are reclaimed or responsibly sourced. This approach allows us to offer a broader range of hand-crafted pieces without compromising on ethics, sustainability or quality.

We're proud to share that every piece is made using traditional techniques and responsible practices that align with our values.

Our Commitment

We’re committed to sustainability, salvaging timber from local arborists, storm-clearance crews, and nearby reclamation yards whenever possible, then working it with low-energy, solar-powered tools and zero-plastic packaging.

We believe beautifully carved wood can mark milestones, gather families around the table, and offer quiet comfort in the garden, all without cutting another living tree. Every Grizzly’s Craft piece is a promise to honour the story of the timber it came from and to leave the forest, and your home, a little better than we found it.

  • 100 % Reclaimed Wood – we intercept more than 90 kg of usable timber each month.

  • Zero-Plastic Packaging – recycled card, paper tape and cornstarch padding - no bubbles, no landfill.

  • Local Supply Chain – 97% of our wood travels less than 50 miles to reach the workbench.

TURN A MEMORY INTO TIMBER

Whether it’s your spaniel’s playful grin, a favourite fishing boat or a house name that deserves pride of place, we love carving personal stories into reclaimed wood. Share a photo, a sketch, or just an idea and we’ll translate it into a one-of-a-kind chainsaw sculpture, sign, board or bench that will last a lifetime outdoors or in.

  • No two commissions are alike - your piece remains exclusive to you.

  • We work only with reclaimed, sustainably sourced timber.

  • Typical turnaround is 3–5 weeks for large carvings, 7 days for small engravings.

Our Team

THE HANDS BEHIND THE GRAIN

Every carving stroke, every polished board and every parcel that leaves the workshop starts with the people you see here. We’re a small crew bound by sawdust, strong coffee and a shared belief that rescued timber deserves a second life.

Together we rescue more than 90kg of timber each month, and we’re always happy to chat about the journey from branch to bench.
