Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to our Help Hub.

Below you’ll find quick, plain-English answers to the questions we hear most often, from wood care and delivery times to how our reclaimed-timber pieces are made.

If you can’t spot the info you need, drop us a message via the contact form and we'll get back to you as soon as possible, normally within one working day.

Got Questions? We've Got Answers!

Are your products really handmade?

Yes. Every item is carved, turned or finished by independent UK artisans whom we represent as a retail agent. No mass production, just small-batch craft.

What type of wood do you use?

All pieces are made from reclaimed or wind-fallen hardwoods such as oak, cedar, teak and driftwood. Using salvaged timber keeps usable wood out of landfill and means every grain pattern is unique.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo?

No two slabs of reclaimed timber are identical, so expect natural variations in colour, knots and grain. Dimensions may vary by a few millimetres, but the overall style and quality remain the same.

How long does a custom order take?

• Personalised engravings and small gifts: usually 7 days to dispatch.
• Large sculptures or furniture: 3–5 weeks depending on maker workload. We’ll confirm an ETA when you approve the quote.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently deliver to the UK, EU and USA. Postage is calculated at checkout. If your country isn’t listed, email us and we’ll try to arrange a bespoke courier.

Can my sculpture stay outdoors all year?

Yes. Each outdoor piece is treated with weather-resistant oil. Re-coat once a year (spring is ideal) and avoid standing the base in constant water to prevent splitting.

How do I care for kitchen boards and bowls?

Hand-wash with mild soap, dry upright, and re-oil with food-safe mineral oil whenever the surface looks dry. Avoid dishwashers, soaking, or prolonged direct sunlight.

What is your returns policy?

You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind. Items must be unused and in original packaging. Custom or personalised pieces can only be returned if they arrive damaged or faulty.

Do you offer gift wrapping or personal notes?

Yes. Select “Add gift wrap” at checkout to receive eco-paper wrapping and a handwritten note, ideal for birthdays, weddings and housewarmings.

Where can I see your work in person?

Visit our stall at UK country shows and craft fairs throughout the year. Check the Events page for the latest schedule, or stop by our Millets Farm workshop showroom Monday-Sunday.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

UK mainland standard delivery is free on orders over £75 or £4.95 below that, arriving in 3–5 working days. Express 24-hour courier is £9.95.

Are your finishes food-safe and eco-friendly?

All kitchenware is sealed with certified food-grade mineral oil. Outdoor pieces use low-VOC, plant-based oils; no toxic lacquers or solvent-heavy varnishes.
